On behalf of the WEA 2026 Program Committee, we extend our support and solidarity to our colleagues at the Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica de Pereira (UTP) and the Fundaci\u00f3n del \u00c1rea Andina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-css wp-custom-css-5317875d wp-block-paragraph\">Based on information provided by UTP officers\u2014 important damages to 65% of their facilities, alongside significant damage to hotel infrastructure and general services, the airport is operating at partial capacity (under 40%), and the slow recovery of the city center\u2014we cannot guarantee that WEA 2026 to be held under relatively safe and normal conditions this October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given these circumstances, the WEA 2026 Program Committee, together with the local organizers, has decided to hold WEA 2026 on the originally scheduled dates (October 21\u201323, 2026) in Bogot\u00e1 so it offers the appropriate logistical conditions to smoothly host the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your travel plans, as Pereira is one of the finest destinations in the coffee region.
